We were commissioned to assist with the restoration of bronze plaques at Cleary’s, Dublin, one of the capital’s most recognisable retail landmarks.
The plaques, which form part of the building’s historic façade, required careful restoration to preserve their original character while ensuring structural integrity and longevity.
Given the heritage context of the building, all work had to respect the original design and finish. Particular attention was paid to the fine raised lettering and decorative border details, ensuring the clarity of the original craftsmanship was retained.
Projects like this demonstrate the value of traditional foundry skills. Bronze plaques of this type are not only functional signage, they are architectural features that contribute to the visual identity of historic buildings.
As an Irish foundry with experience in restoration and heritage work, we understand the importance of maintaining authenticity while ensuring durability for future decades.
